1. What is the concept behind the doctor aromas’ system?
Doctor Aromas provides aromatherapy through your central air conditioning system. The Fragrance Canisters contain the finest cosmetic grade perfumes and pure essential oils that are sprayed on the AC filter. Depending on the size of the space and the fragrance intensity desired, the dispenser that is attached to the refill can be programmed to spray at desired intervals.
2. How long do the fragrance canisters last?
The canisters deliver approximately 2400 sprays. Depending on the time interval you set between sprays, you will have a certain amount of sprays per hour (i.e. If you set the dispenser to spray at 20 minute intervals, this will give you 3 sprays per hour). Multiply the number of sprays per hour by the number of hours you plan on using the fragrance canister, and you will have the number of sprays per day (i.e. If you operate the canister 8 hours per day then you’ll be using 24 shots per day). Divide 2400 (total number of sprays in each canister) by the total number of sprays per day and you’ll get the approximate number of days the canister will last (i.e. 2400 / 24 = 100 days).
Using a canister 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with one spray every 20 minutes, it will last approximately 30 days.
3. How do I choose the interval I need between sprays?
It’s really a matter of personal preference. You can start initially with 20 minutes intervals, try it for a while and you can then increase or decrease the time depending on the fragrance intensity you like.
4. What about very large spaces?
If you find that you would like the fragrance intensity to be stronger, you can set up two, or more, Fragrance Canisters by the filter. If you have more than one AC unit, then you would need at least one Fragrance Canister for each unit.
5. With what frequency do I need to change the canisters?
Fragrance Canisters last an average of 30 days, but it depends on the frequency you set between spray intervals. Use the calculation above under “HOW LONG DO THE FRAGRANCE CANISTERS LAST?” to estimate the time based on your personal use. Remember to change the AA batteries in the home dispenser every time you change the canister, or every 45 days, whichever comes first.
6. Does your system work only with cold air?
No. Doctor Aromas can also be used with the fan or heat settings or your central air condirioning system. Warm air will give you a slightly stronger fragrance.
7. Is your system cost effective?
Doctor Aromas provides results that cannot be obtained with any other system. Aerosol room sprays and plugins only deliver fragrance in the small surrounding area where they are placed. Since our system uses your AC to deliver the fragrance, you will literally have “aromatherapy in the air” evenly throughout your entire home.
Since you need only one Fragrance Canister, which lasts a month, or more, our system also ends up being the least expensive. To obtain similar results, you would need multiple aerosol room sprays and plugins, whose scents usually last only 10 days, so you would end up spending a lot more for an inferior and inefficient product.
Each scent is crafted with the highest quality and freshest ingredients to ensure a positive experience.
Doctor Aromas is clearly the best choice any way you look at it.
8. What about the quality and safety of your products?
Doctor Aromas Fragrance refills are made using the finest cosmetic grade perfumes and pure essential oils. The propellant used is the same one used in asthma inhaler devices, it is non-flammable, and it does not hurt the ozone layer nor affect people, pets or plants. Never point the Fragrance refills towards your face. If you spray yourself, wash the area thoroughly with soap and water. Safety Data Sheets are available upon request.
9. Does your system only work with central air conditioners (HVAC)?
Yes.
10. I just installed dispenser to the canister but the dispenser is not working
-
Verify that the trigger in the dispenser is completely up before attaching it to the Fragrance Canister. If the trigger shows, push it up with the remote control or a pencil.

-
Try changing the dispenser’s batteries. Use only AA alkaline batteries.
-
Use the Fragrance Canister and dispenser in the upright position. It will not properly work if laying down.
11. The dispenser is acting erratically and dispensing every few seconds
The batteries need to be replaced. Change the dispenser's batteries every 45 days, or every time you replace the Fragrance Canister, whichever happens first.
12. Can I place the canister laying down so it points to the filter when the filter is horizontal and parallel to the floor?
No. Always use the Fragrance Canister and dispenser in the upright position. It will not properly work if it is laying down. Even if the Fragrance Canister is not pointing directly at the filter, the fragrance will still be sucked in by the air flow.
13. Can I use the doctor aromas' system in an AC wall unit or split system?
No. Our system only works with central air conditioners. Do not use in wall units or splits. Please contact our office if your air conditioning system is not central and we will offer you other alternatives.
14. Will the system work if my central AC (HVAC) is off?
In order for the system to work the fan must be on. During cool weather turn the fan of your central air conditioner to the ON position (as opposed to AUTO) to ensure the fragrance continues to circulate throughout your home.
15. Can I use the fragrance canister as a regular room aerosol and spray it in places other than the filter of my central AC (HVAC)?
No. The contents of Doctor Aromas Fragrance Canisters are very different from regular room aerosol sprays. They contain plant essences and essential oils that will not "float" in the air. The mist will fall to the floor and will make it slippery. Do not use the Fragrance Canister on furniture or fabrics since it can cause stains.
16. How do I set up the canister once I attach the dispenser?
Once you attach the dispenser unit to the Fragrance Canister, place it so that when it sprays, it hits the largest possible area of the filter.
Filter is parallel to the floor:
Mount the dispenser on the wall so that it sits just below the filter.

Filter parallel to the floor with a water heater below:
Hang the dispenser from the wall at a height that will allow the spray to go over the water heater and be sucked in by the AC intake.

Filter is inside the wall duct:
Open the air intake vent, remove the air filter, and place the dispenser inside the AC duct pointing towards the filter at a 45 degrees angle.

Filter is on the ceiling:
Open the air intake vent and remove the filter. Hang the dispenser from the wall or directly from the duct.

Filter is parallel to the wall:
The Dispenser should be placed at a distance from 4 to 10 inches from the filter. If you have a distance of at least 4 inches from the wall to the filter, simply hang the dispenser from the wall. If this cannot be done, please place the dispenser parallel to the filter as shown in picture 6.

Filter is parallel to the wall with limited space:
If the distance between the filter and the wall is less than 4 inches, hang the dispenser on the wall perpendicular to the filter.
